Overview of remio’s User Guide

1. Introduction to remio

remio is an AI-driven personal knowledge hub designed to help you capture, organize, and retrieve information effortlessly. It’s perfect for students, professionals, researchers, or anyone looking to manage notes and web content securely. All data is stored locally on your device for maximum privacy, and it works offline too

2. Installation
  • Download and Install: Visit www.remio.ai to download remio (currently available for Mac with Apple Silicon, with more devices coming soon). Drag the remio icon to your Applications folder.

  • Sign Up/Login: Open remio and register using Google, Apple services. Email and password login options are planned for the future.

  • Browser Extension: Install the remio Chrome Extension to enable web content capture. It activates automatically after installation. Install here

3. Capturing Content
  • Web Capture: Use the Chrome Extension to highlight text on any webpage. A toolbar appears, letting you save highlights as notes in the “Unprocessed” section. You can add comments to clarify ideas.

  • Auto-Capture: remio automatically saves valuable webpage content (e.g., articles) as “Parsed content” with the URL, title, and text in markdown format. It skips irrelevant pages like login screens or unsafe sites but saves anything you manually highlight.

  • Mobile App (Planned): The upcoming mobile app will let you capture text or voice notes via home screen widgets and share content (like articles or files) to a designated WeChat account for collection.

4. Organizing and Managing Notes
  • Smart Organization: remio’s AI sorts and labels notes, making them easy to find. Use the search function to locate notes quickly with highlighted keywords.

  • AI Features: Generate summaries (100-150 words) of notes, deduplicate content, or merge new info with existing notes. You can also highlight key details like dates or tasks.

  • Smart Write: Create or edit content with AI-powered tools like auto-completion, rephrasing, or generating text from templates to match your style.

5. Accessing and Using Notes
  • Cross-Device Sync: remio syncs notes across devices (smartphone, tablet, computer) for seamless access. Offline mode ensures you can view notes without internet.

  • Search and Retrieve: Use the full-text search to find notes or text, with results grouped by “New Notes” or “New Text” for clarity.

  • View and Edit: Notes display the title (or first 20 characters), creation time, and source. You can edit, delete, or share them as needed.

6. Tips for Success
