Gives smart summaries and explanations
Lets you reuse answers as new notes
Accessing Chat
Click "Chat" in the navigation bar.
Keep an item open in the right-hand resource pane while you chat on the left. This is the best way to ask questions about the note, file, or table you are viewing.
If the Search result does not meet your request, you can also Chat in the search box in natural language; it will also lead you to find the answer
Chat is always the left pane. Open Search from the main interface when you want to jump to an item, then continue the same conversation on the left.
Chat on the left, resources on the right
remio uses a dual-pane workspace. Chat stays on the left so the conversation does not drift. The right pane shows your knowledge base and any artifact remio is editing—notes, tables, slides, or files. Ask questions while you keep the relevant item open on the right.
Optimize Chat with Flexible Modes
Take control of your AI conversations by switching between modes that match your specific goal—whether you need speed, depth, or full customization. Simply navigate to the mode toggle (located near the chat input box) to select the best option for your task:
Fast Mode: Optimized for speed and efficiency. This is the best choice for quick fact-checks, short questions, and getting immediate answers without waiting.
Expert Mode: Prioritizes higher quality and deeper understanding. Use this for complex writing, reasoning tasks, or analyzing long documents where accuracy matters more than speed.
Session settings: Choose a model, enable MCP connectors, and control tools for the current session.
Premium Model Usage & Credit System
Check your credits balance, use advanced models when you need, and enjoy basic models as default. remio offers a flexible credit system that allows you to:
Check Credits: View your current credit balance in bottom left
Choose Your Model: Select between free basic models and premium advanced models for different tasks
Flexible Top-up: Add credits as needed to access advanced AI capabilities

You can stop generation if needed.
Once complete, remio displays the answer in the conversation. Responses may include citations from your knowledge base, marked with numbers. You can hover to see the evidence cards.
Slash commands
Type a slash in the chat input, then a space, to start a focused workflow:
/pptx — create or edit slides
/xlsx — analyze a spreadsheet
/image — generate an image
/deep-research — run in-depth research
You can also @ mention notes, files, and tables so the agent works on a specific item.
Toggle Knowledge Base
While you chat, remio can use the item currently open in the right pane as extra context.
You can still decide whether the agent should search the rest of your knowledge base for each question.
Web Search: Accessing Up-to-Date Information
To ensure your answers are always current and comprehensive, remio AI Chat can intelligently perform web searches in addition to retrieving information from your personal knowledge base. This helps you get real-time information, explore topics you haven't yet documented, and perform fact-checks.
Why it's helpful:
Get Real-Time Information: Get answers on current events, the latest tech trends, or real-time data like stock prices.
Fill Knowledge Gaps: Chat about topics you haven't recorded yet, such as how-to guides or product comparisons.
Fact-Check and Verify: Use external sources to confirm or supplement information in your personal notes.
Lower the Barrier to Entry: Get useful answers immediately, even before you've built an extensive knowledge base.
How to Use Web Search
Web Search Toggle: Below the input box, you will see a web icon (🌐).
Default Mode: By default, this feature is on, and remio will intelligently decide whether a web search is needed based on your question.
Manual Control: You can click the icon to manually turn off web search for the current session.
Availability: The web search option will be disabled (grayed out) if you are using your own custom API key or if the selected large language model does not support this feature.
Citing Web Sources
When an answer includes content from the web, it will be clearly cited in the response. You can hover over the citation to see a card displaying the source website's icon, name, and page title, ensuring full transparency of the information source.
Privacy Protection
Your privacy is paramount. When using web search, only the anonymized query itself is sent to the search engine. None of your personal notes or local content ever leaves your device or encrypted cloud storage.
Check Recent Questions
You can check recent question history in session header. And users can single click 1 question to locate it.

Start a new session
Start a new session from the left sidebar when you want a clean conversation that is not mixed with the previous thread.
Give the session a name
remio will automatically generate a title for each independent session. You don't need to manually add it.
Organize chats into groups
Pin important sessions, or create custom groups in the left sidebar and drag conversations between them. Deleting a group can also remove the chats inside it—confirm before you cascade-delete.
Interacting with Generated Answers
When finishes responding, the answer appears in the chat window. You have several actions available for each answer:
Scroll to check all answers.
Save as new Note – Save the answer as a new note for further editing
Copy – Copy the answer.
Delete – Remove unwanted answers.
Like / Dislike – Use ratings to improve results.
View Citations – See the support evidence items for the answers.
Keep chatting while remio works
If the agent is still running, you can send a follow-up instruction (steer) without stopping the current job. Use this to correct direction mid-run instead of waiting for a full restart.
