Ask remio
Ask remio is the AI-driven chat built into remio, which lets you ask questions in natural language and retrieves AI-generated answers from your notes, collections, captured web content & knowledge from LLM, complete with source citations.

Why it's helpful:
Saves time searching through notes
Gives smart summaries and explanations
Lets you reuse answers as new notes
Accessing Ask
Click "Ask" in the navigation bar for the full-screen chat.
Use the remio Copilot button to open Copilot sidebar. Great for asking questions while viewing a resource or writing a note.
If the Search result does not meet your request, you can also Ask remio in the search box in natural language; it will also lead you to find the answer
Using the Ask page gives you full view of Ask, while the sidebar or global command provides quick, context-aware access (sharing the same chat history in the current version).
Start Asking
Enter questions using natural language.
Press Send button to submit.
remio will start the streaming generation for an answer in real time.
You can stop generation if needed.
Once complete, remio displays the answer in the conversation. Responses may include citations from your knowledge base, marked with numbers. You can hover to see the evidence cards.
Choose Knowledge Scope
While using Ask, remio will auto-detect content of the item on another side, and may use it in query.
Also, users can choose searching knowledge scope or not when remio answers your query.
Switch Models & LLM Service Providers
remio empowers you with full control over your AI experience and data privacy. You can easily choose how you want to interact with large language models directly within the "Ask" feature, ensuring your conversations remain secure.
Use remio's Integrated Models: For convenience, select from our curated list of powerful models. All your interactions are handled with strict security and privacy protocols.
Custom Your Own Key (For Ultimate Privacy): Connect your personal API key from providers like Open Router, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or X-AI. When you use your own key, your prompts and the AI's responses are sent directly to the provider, bypassing our servers entirely. This means remio never sees or stores your conversation data, guaranteeing the highest level of security.
Check Recent Questions
You can check recent question history in session header. And users can single click 1 question to locate it.

Start a new session
You can add a new session to start a new conversation with remio in case the result was mixed up by the previous conversation (for Version 1.5.0 and up).
Give the session a name
remio will automatically generate a title for each independent session. You don't need to manually add it.

Accessing Official Prompts
remio makes it easy to use these built-in prompts in several ways:
In the Ask Input Box: You will find clickable prompt suggestions, like "Recap this week," appearing directly above the text input area. Simply click one to populate the input field, and then you can either send it directly or modify it to fit your needs.
System Notifications: remio may periodically send you a system notification (e.g., on Fridays) suggesting you generate a weekly recap, giving you a one-click path to this feature.
Creating Your Own Reusable Prompts
While remio provides official prompts, you can easily create your own library of personal prompts for tasks you perform often.
Craft Your Perfect Prompt: Type a detailed and effective prompt into the Ask remio input box.
Get a Great Result: Run the prompt and confirm the AI's answer is what you were looking for.
Save the Interaction: Click the "rem as new Note" button on the answer.
Link with Prompt Library collection: you can also connect a mannual notes with prompt library.
When you do this, remio saves the AI's answer as a new note and, importantly, uses your original question as the title of that note. You can create a "Collection" named "My Prompts" to organize all these notes.
To reuse a prompt, you will find "Prompt Library" in Ask. You can search the prompt title in the search bar. then you select it and it will auto-filled the content into chat box.
