Those figures form a notable engineering package. A wide chassis gives designers more internal surface area, which can help distribute battery cells and other components. It also changes how the phone balances in one hand.

Tests should compare visible content rather than diagonal measurements alone. Video image area, document width, game field of view, keyboard comfort, and portrait-feed density provide more useful evidence. The Pura X View exists to change those experiences.
The second signal is application adaptation during the next several months. Native HarmonyOS applications should demonstrate multi-column layouts, improved document views, useful multitasking, and controls designed for the wider reach.

No response would not immediately prove failure. Smartphone development cycles run longer than a few months. However, sustained silence combined with weak sales would suggest that the Pura X View remains a distinctive niche.
Panel sourcing belongs within this third signal. A confirmed Tianma role would show that Huawei worked with a domestic display partner on an unusual panel format. Additional supplier disclosures or teardowns would clarify production scale and sourcing resilience.
The broader Huawei Pura strategy now has a coherent theme. The original Pura X used a hinge to make a wide display portable. The Pura X View asks users to carry that width all the time in exchange for a simpler body and larger battery.
That is a cleaner experiment than the initial viral framing suggests. The important question is not whether a 6.39-inch Tianma panel exists. The supplier claim remains unverified, while the device’s unusual proportions are already official.
The real question is whether people prefer a phone that shows content better but fits the hand less naturally. Huawei has made that tradeoff visible, measurable, and available in a conventional slab.
