remio for Mobile

Welcome to remio Mobile! It's your portable collector, designed for efficient information capture. You can capture voice, photos, notes, and content from other apps anytime, anywhere. All captured content will be synced to the remio Desktop client, where it will be transcribed, recognized, and processed by our powerful AI before being integrated into your personal knowledge base.

Getting Started

Prerequisites: Bind with the Desktop Client

To enable content syncing and processing, you must bind the mobile app with the remio Desktop client .

  1. Install the Desktop Client: First, install the remio Desktop application on your computer. You can get the download link from our official website at www.remio.ai.

  2. Get the QR Code: In the remio Desktop application, navigate to Settings > Bind mobile, and a QR code for binding will be displayed on the screen .

  3. Scan to Bind: Open the remio mobile app, tap the "I have installed, Bind Now" button to launch the scanner, and scan the QR code on your computer screen with your phone.

  4. Binding Complete: After a successful scan, a "Bound!" message will pop up . You can then start capturing content.

Permission Description

To ensure all features work correctly, remio will request permissions on-demand when you use a specific feature for the first time. There is no need to grant them in advance from your system settings.

  • Microphone Permission: When you first tap the "Record" button on the main screen, the app will request this permission to record meetings and voice notes.

  • Photos Permission: When you use the "Camera" or select images from "Photos," the app will request this permission to save or read image files.

  • Files Permission: When you select a document from "Files," the app will request the corresponding file-reading permission.

If you accidentally deny a permission, you don't need to go to system settings. The app will prompt you for permission again the next time you try to use that feature.

Core Features

Content Capture

You can quickly capture various types of information using the buttons on the main screen .

  • Recording: Tap the large circular button at the bottom center of the screen to start recording immediately.

    • Recordings can last up to 180 minutes.

    • The recording will continue even if the app is running in the background.

    • On the capture detail page, the audio player only offers basic play/pause functionality and a non-draggable progress bar.

  • Notes & Editing

    • Create a Note: Tap the "Note" button to quickly create a new text note.

    • Editing Toolbar: When you enter the note editing page, you will see an editing toolbar above the keyboard. It includes common formatting shortcuts (like headings, bold, lists, etc.) to help you format your text quickly . You can swipe this toolbar left and right to see and use more functions.

  • More Capture Methods: Tap the "More" button to access:

    • Camera: Directly use the camera to take and save photos.

    • Photos: Select one or more images from your phone's gallery to upload .

    • Files: Choose documents or other files from your phone to upload.

Sharing from Other Apps

remio is integrated with the system's Share Menu. When browsing content in other apps like your browser or photo gallery, you can use the system's "Share" function to send text, links, images, and files (such as PDF, DOCX, etc.) directly to remio. Each share will create a separate captured item.

Managing Captured Content
  • All captured items are listed on the home screen in reverse chronological order.

  • You can long-press or swipe left on an item in the list and then select Delete . Please note that this action will delete the data from both your phone's local storage and the cloud server.

Tips

  • Multi-file Upload: When you select multiple items from your photo gallery or files at once, remio will create a separate capture for each file or image.

  • Automatic Naming Rules :

    • Photos taken with the in-app camera will be automatically named with a timestamp.

    • Files/images uploaded from the gallery or added via sharing will retain their original filenames.

  • Syncing Process Overview: Content you capture on phone is first uploaded and temporarily stored on a cloud server. When your remio Desktop client is running, it will automatically pull this content from the server, save it to the local remio_mobile_files folder, and perform subsequent AI processing.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

  • Q: Why isn't the content I captured on my phone showing up on my desktop?

  • A: Please check the following:

    • Ensure both your phone and computer are connected to the internet.

    • Check the binding status indicator on the mobile app's home screen to confirm if the desktop client is "Online".

    • Make sure your remio Desktop application is running. Content is temporarily stored in the cloud and can only be pulled and processed after the desktop client comes online.

  • Q: What do the sync statuses next to the captured items mean?

  • A: It indicates the current stage of data synchronization, such as "Waiting to upload" (usually due to network issues), "Uploading," or "Upload complete" (waiting in the cloud to be pulled by the desktop client). The status will update accordingly once the desktop client has finished processing.

  • Q: How do I view images within the app?

  • A: To keep things simple, remio uses your phone's default system image viewer to preview pictures.
